Christmas

Christmas is coming up fast & I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up. It just doesn't feel like a warm & traditional Christmas when you're living under someone else's roof. Against my natural instincts, I have avoided nesting & decorating our room since we moved in because I didn't want to get too comfortable or accept that we'd be here a while, but maybe it's what I need to feel better about Christmas. Although our living situation is not ideal, I want to choose to make the best of it. That takes a lot of adapting & acceptance of others' ways or lifestyles. It's not easy. My dad once told me, "We have to do what we can with what we have." I know that where we are & what we have is a blessing & I should be grateful. This Christmas is an opportunity to give back to our families for helping us so much when we have needed it.

As for our room, I'll be getting a small Christmas tree, maybe some Christmas decorations & lights. That should make it feel more like the holidays.
